The Verdict
Spies in Disguise is a breezy family spy comedy whose only mild ideological note is a non-violence, 'be the good guy' message woven into the plot. There are no identity swaps, no LGBTQ+ content, and no anti-male framing. It's essentially clean on the woke axes, with just a touch of feel-good preachiness about not fighting fire with fire.

Preachiness
A non-violent, 'be the good guy' message about not using weapons is folded into the plot but stated fairly directly.
- Walter's anti-violence philosophy and 'glitter bomb' non-lethal gadgets
- Theme that fighting violence with violence isn't the answer
Anti-Masculinity / Anti-West
Mildly contrasts macho spy bravado with gentler problem-solving but isn't framed as a toxic-masculinity lecture.
- Walter's kindness valued over Lance's tough-guy approach
Source Betrayal
Loosely based on a short film; no agenda-driven rewrite.
