The Verdict
*Last Man Standing* is essentially an anti-woke sitcom — its premise gently mocks progressive culture while celebrating traditional masculinity. It contains effectively zero progressive identity messaging; if anything its preachiness runs the opposite direction. A clean score across the board.
What the AI Flagged
Category explanations and examples behind the assessment. Internal category scores and the exact calculation are private; external sources appear below when available.
Identity Swaps
Original sitcom with original characters; no established characters to swap.
Girlboss & Male Demotion
The premise centers on a man surrounded by women, but it's played for comedy and the show largely defends and celebrates his masculinity rather than demoting him.
- Mike Baxter is a strong, opinionated patriarch in a female-dominated household
- Comedic friction with his daughters and wife, but he's never written as incompetent
LGBTQ+ / Trans / Non-Binary Content
No prominent LGBTQ+ characters or storylines central to the series.
DEI Casting
Casting fits the contemporary family-sitcom setting without quota-driven choices.
Preachiness
The show frequently editorializes, but its messaging leans conservative/anti-woke rather than progressive, so it scores low on progressive preachiness.
- Mike's monologues often mock political correctness and liberal trends
- Episodes openly satirize progressive culture from a right-leaning view
Anti-Masculinity / Anti-West
The series actively champions traditional masculinity rather than framing it as toxic.
- Mike's entire arc is defending old-school manliness in a changing world
Source Betrayal
Original work with no source material to betray.
