The Verdict
Brothers and Sisters is a family drama notable for its prominent, sympathetic portrayal of a gay lead character (Kevin Walker) whose relationship arc is woven throughout the series. Beyond that, it touches contemporary political topics but keeps them embedded in soapy family storytelling rather than lecturing. As an original property with organic casting, it scores low on swaps and source betrayal.
