The Verdict
After Ever Happy is a straightforward angsty heterosexual romance drama adapted from a popular New Adult novel. It contains essentially no identity messaging — no swaps, no LGBTQ+ themes, no preachiness or anti-masculinity framing. Its drama is purely interpersonal, making it clean across all WokeMeter axes.

Girlboss & Male Demotion
A romantic drama centered on a turbulent heterosexual relationship; no 'men are the problem' messaging.

Contemporary setting with conventional casting; nothing that overrides lore or setting.
